چکیده
Idiopathic pulmonary haemosiderosis (IPH) was first described by Virchow in 1865 as 'brown lung induration'. In 1931 Ceelen reported the necropsy findings in 2 children. The clinical picture in association with radiological and pathological findings was reported by Waldenstrom (1944), and Wyllie et al. (1948) reviewed 24 cases in children. Nearly 200 have since been reported. In the past 5 years, 26 patients with IPH were admitted to the Paediatric Clinic of Athens University, and form the subject of this review.

متن کاملIdiopathic pulmonary haemosiderosis: report of two cases and review of the literature.
Idiopathic pulmonary haemosiderosis (IPH) is a rare disorder affecting mainly children and adolescents, and is usually fatal. Two cases are reported, one of which has the atypical feature of a malabsorption syndrome. This has not been previously reporte...

متن کاملPulmonary Haemosiderosis (apparently Idiopathic) Associated with Myocarditis, with Bilateral Penetrating Corneal Ulceration, and with Diabetes Mellitus.
The literature of pulmonary haemosiderosis includes an account by Campbell and Macafee (1959) of idiopathic pulmonary haemosiderosis associated with myocarditis. Their patient first had symptoms of shortness of breath at the age of 7; he was found to have the radiological changes of pulmonary haemosiderosis at the age of 12, and he died when 14 years old. Death was due to cardiac failure, and a...
